01

Gravity and Geometry

General relativity describes gravity through the geometry of spacetime rather than treating gravity as an ordinary force acting instantaneously across space.

02

Einstein Field Equation

G_{μν} + Λg_{μν} = (8πG/c⁴)T_{μν}

The equation relates spacetime curvature to the distribution and flow of matter and energy.

03

Black Holes

A black hole is a region of spacetime from which signals cannot escape to distant observers once they pass through the event horizon.

General relativity predicts black holes, gravitational time dilation, gravitational waves, and many other phenomena that differ fundamentally from Newtonian gravity.
