01

Measurement Chain

physical quantity → sensor → signal conditioning → transmitter → controller

Every measurement introduces limitations. Accuracy, precision, resolution, range, bandwidth, drift, hysteresis, noise, environmental sensitivity, and calibration affect the usefulness of the resulting signal.

02

Common Measurements

  • Temperature.
  • Pressure.
  • Flow.
  • Level.
  • Position.
  • Velocity.
  • Acceleration.
  • Force and torque.
  • Electrical voltage and current.
  • Chemical composition.
