01
Real-Time Behavior
A real-time system must produce outputs within timing constraints determined by the application. The key property is not simply speed but predictability relative to deadlines.
02
Scheduling
A scheduler selects which runnable task executes. Real-time systems may use priority-based, fixed-priority, earliest-deadline, cyclic, or other scheduling strategies depending on requirements.

Latency and Jitter
Latency is the delay between an event and the corresponding response. Jitter describes variation in timing. Both can matter in motor control, communications, audio, industrial automation, and safety-critical systems.
